Hoover Dam Tours:  The Hoover Dam is a world–famous concrete arch–gravity dam that is located less than an hour from the JW Marriott Las Vegas on the border between Nevada and Arizona. It impounds the mighty Colorado River in the Black Canyon. The dam was designated a National Historic Landmark by congress in 1985. More than 8 million people a year visit the dam and many take Hoover Dam tours.  The dam is 726 feet tall and nearly a 1/4–mile long. It is 660 feet wide at its base and has enough concrete to build thousands of miles of interstate.  If you are traveling to Las Vegas, one of the United States' most popular travel destinations, experiencing Hoover Dam tours is a must. It is one of the top sightseeing attractions in the Las Vegas area. A variety of different types of Hoover Dam tours are offered. Most tour companies operate out of Las Vegas and will pick visitors up from their hotels. Visitors can take private tours, group tours, bus tours, helicopter tours, or airplane tours of the dam. Tours can typically be either a half–day or full day, or just a few hours if you take a helicopter tour. If you would like to stay near the dam, the nearest town is Boulder City, Nevada, eight miles to the west. For more information: https://www.usbr.gov/lc/hooverdam/

Las Vegas is widely known as the Gambling and Entertainment Capitol of the World, but the SFGA is going for the golf!  Did you know that there are over 75 golf courses within 20 miles of Las Vegas? Vegas is a golfer's paradise providing 292 days of sun a year! Fall in Las Vegas offers great golf weather and top course conditions.  We will stay at the award winning JW Marriott Las Vegas in the emerging Summerlin area just north of the famous “strip”.  This location allows us to be near the action, but not too close.  The JW Marriott Las Vegas offers a high standard that our discerning members will appreciate.  A 20 minute drive from Harry Reid International Airport in your rental vehicle is all it takes to reach the JW Marriott. Onsite amenities and recreations include spacious guest rooms, 9 dining options, a sparkling pool with towering waterfalls, and a signature spa. In addition, when we are not golfing, our members can visit several popular museums, catch a show or try their luck at the resort's Rampart Casino – which has 50,000 sq ft of gaming space with slot machines, table games, and two entertainment lounges.

Tentative Itinerary:

Paiute's Snow Mountain Golf Course was the first of the three courses designed by Pete Dye opening in 1994. As one of Dye’s trademarks, the course is littered with railroad ties around many of the bunkers. Snow Mountain has generously wide fairways and it's a good thing as it gives you a fair chance of staying out of the pot bunkers and lakes that seem to be placed right where your shot may want to go. Along with the Bentgrass greens, Las Vegas Paiute Snow Mountain has seven holes with water, the traditional Dye railroad-tie bunkers, dogleg finishing holes, and a progressive layout. It's also rated as the number one course in Nevada voted by the annual Golfers' Choice lists generated by GolfPass.

The Mob Museum - National Museum of Organized Crime & Law Enforcement

The Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to advance the public understanding of organized crime’s history and impact on American society. The Museum offers a provocative, contemporary look at these topics through hundreds of artifacts and immersive exhibits.  The best stories are found by digging under the surface. At The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, we put in the work to get to the bottom of some of history’s most intriguing tales, exploring the age-old dichotomy of good guys vs. bad guys.  Located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, The Mob Museum is an immersive experience exploring the ongoing power struggle between organized crime and law enforcement from the Mob’s origination to today.  Through vivid storytelling, guests are presented with the facts, the fiction and the gray area in between — showcasing the events & characters that played an integral (and infamous) role in U.S. history.

Event Details:

Circus Show at Circus Circus Hotel. The show features juggling, aerial acrobatics, trapeze stunts, and clowns. The show is held throughout the day on the floor above the main casino. While you would think it's always a family friendly show, one show was by a man and woman who were scantily clad and groping each other in provocative poses, apparently somewhat 'acrobatic' in nature. It was awkward seeing little 4 year olds watch that from the front row.
