Tubac Golf Resort & Spa
 Tubac, Arizona

The members of the SFGA who participated in our Tubac Golf Resort and Spa Event, November 7-13, experienced an oasis in the southern Arizona Desert. We had a wonderful stay at Tubac Resort. The resort is on the national register of historic places and dates back to 1789 when the Otero Ranch was established with a land-grant from Spain. Today Tubac Resort is still a working cattle ranch and we have posted a funny picture on our website that proves it! It was taken on the first tee on the Rancho nine at Tubac…

All of our participants had Tubac’s spacious Hacienda Suites; decorated with a very appropriate Southwestern theme these accommodations were comfortable, luxurious and modern. And the in room fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs came handy as the desert evenings became a bit chilly after the sundown. Our dining experiences were first rate. The resort provided our breakfasts each morning as well as our welcome and farewell dinners. These were held in a private room overlooking the golf course and the Santa Rita Mountains. The magnificent setting was only exceeded by the food itself. Everything was delicious. After two days of golf we took a break and went sightseeing, visiting the Arizona Desert Museum and Old Tucson Studios which was the site of over 350 film & television projects dating back to 1939.

The golf course at Tubac was in excellent condition and the play was most enjoyable. We also played a couple classic desert courses, Canoa Ranch and San Ignacio. They were quite challenging layouts but offered fantastic views of the Maderas Canyon and Santa Rita Mountains. We played four 18-hole tournaments with four different formats. Congratulations go out to Paul McCarty who was the biggest winner of the week.

The S.F.G.A. is looking forward to returning to Tubac in the future. Let us know if you are interested in setting up a group of golfers to visit Tubac, we would love the opportunity to run your Tubac Golf Adventure.
