Our Casa de Campo event in the Dominican Republic was a great success and based on the feedback I received, all forty participants had a wonderful time. In fact Casa de Campo was better than ever! They completely renovated the main entrance/lobby area spending over $30 million. The new lobby now opens onto the new La Cana indoor-outdoor bar/lounge, three swimming pools, the fine dining La Cana Restaurant, a library and large modern fitness center. The facilities at Casa are world class but it’s the service that really helps make everyone’s stay so enjoyable. The staff will do whatever they can to accommodate your wishes. The package we are always on includes breakfast, lunch and dinner with several fantastic restaurants to choose from. Some of the selections we dined on included fresh grouper, lobster, sea bass and beef tenderloin; which was outstanding. Also the package includes all premium brands of alcohol, this is not the case at most other all inclusive resorts and it’s just one more added touch that makes Casa de Campo such a great value. The weather was sunny, breezy and warm with only one day of rain. Participants not only enjoyed world class golf but many enjoyed using the facilities at the Beach Club, Marina and Altos de Chavon. All of our deluxe rooms were conveniently located and overlooked the 10th fairway of the “Teeth of the Dog” Golf Course. Speaking of “Teeth of the Dog”, the course was in excellent shape as were the Links and Dye Fore! Our package included unlimited golf and we played four tournament rounds. Special recognition goes out to the “Honeymooners”, Les and Linda Lincke from Ft. Myers, who played beautifully. They finished “in the money”, three out of four days and Les consistently shot some of our lowest rounds all week long.
Casa de Campo is a destination the S.F.G.A. will be returning to year after year, because of the great quality of service, golf and their award-winning reputation.
